Opting to bowl first, the Kings struck early as Riders’ Steven Taylor walked back for nought. Saif Hassan followed him back to the pavilion for just eight as Khaled Ahmed handed the Kings their second breakthrough.

However, Iftikhar’s Ahmed’s brilliant unbeaten 65, along with Soumya Sarkar’s 23 and Mahedi Hasan’s 22 guided the Riders to 148/5 in 20 overs. 

Chasing a decent total, Lahiru Milantha walked back early as Parvez Emon (43), Graham Clark (15), and Mohammad Mithun (20) steadied the ship.

However, a late, much-needed attacking resurgence from Ali guided the Kings home in 17.4 overs. Akif Javed and Mohammad Saifuddin, who picked up two wickets each, were the only wicket-takers for Rangpur.
