MANILA, Philippines — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of San Pascual municipality in Masbate province on Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In a bulletin, Phivolcs said the tectonic quake hit at 10:01 a.m. some 32 kilometers (km) southwest of San Pascual.

Phivolcs said this earthquake is not expected to produce aftershocks or result in any damage.
