The United States issued over one million visas to India in 2024. This feat marks the second year in a row the US Embassy in India has issued and approved a record number of non-immigrant visas. bonus365

As per the official statement issued by the US Embassy in New Delhi, India emerged as the top sender of international students in 2024 with over 331,000 students enrolled across the 50 states.

Furthermore, India maintained its position as the largest contributor of international graduate students. The number of visas issued this year was 30 percent higher than 2023.

"In the past four years, visitor numbers from India have increased by five times, and more than two million Indians travelled to the United States in the first eleven months of 2024, a 26 percent increase over the same period in 2023. Over five million Indians already have a nonimmigrant visa to visit the United States and each day the Mission issues thousands more," said the embassy.

The US Mission in India issued tens of thousands of immigrant visas along with non-immigrant visas. Upon arrival, these visa holders then became permanent residents upon arrival.

The embassy has further stated that over five million Indians have been issued non-immigrant visas and tens of thousands of visas continue to be issued.
